Girl donates lots of locks to Locks of Love
by Rose Posival, Killeen Daily Herald

Anna Megan Henson

Anna Megan Henson, 10, of Kempner, donated 11 inches of hair to Locks of Love on July 21, 2007.

Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under 18 who have long-term medical hair loss.

Henson will be in the sixth grade at S.C. Lee Junior High School for the 2007-08 school year.

She first learned about Locks of Love when she scheduled a hair appointment with

Debbie Howard (Classy Cuts & Styles) to update her hairstyle.

"Debby suggested that she wait a few months to reach the required amount", said Tiona Henson, Anna's mother.  "She also told her what Locks of Love does with the hair.  She thinks it's pretty neat to do that for children."

In her spare time, Anna likes to read, swim, and watch movies while hanging out with friends.  She's active in the First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove children's choir and Girls in Action.  She is the daughter of Billy and Tiona Henson of Kempner.
